To make your sand last, you need a base to keep it separated from the soil beneath it.

SandMat – Create your beautiful sandy beach
SandMats are made for creating sandy beaches on shore. As a base for sand, a SandMat creates a “separation barrier,” keeping your sand from mixing with your existing soil.
SandMats control weed growth and hinder new weeds from taking root, to help keep your sandy beach weed free. SandMats provide excellent soil separation and a great solid base for sand, or topsoils.

Super SandMat – For soft shorelines
When shorelines can’t drain properly, they stay unstable and mostly unusable. Such shorelines stay wet most of the time. If you have such a waterfront, you’ll want to use Super SandMats.
Super SandMats are “souped up” SandMats, providing extra support on soft, spongy shores. It works like a giant snowshoe. Super SandMats include a geogrid under the SandMat fabric. This extra support firms up shorelines and helps hold sand or topsoils in place.
Super SandMat does everything a SandMat does — plus provides the additional base support for sand on “mushy” shorelines that are “always wet” and don’t drain properly.
SandMats in water – The leading edges of SandMats and Super SandMats can go a foot or two into the water, but waves will eventually wash your sand off, mostly pushing it further up, on shore. If you want a sandy beach “in the water” you’ll need MuckMat Pro to hold it place.
SandMat and Super SandMat are meant for on shore use. We provide plastic stakes to temporarily hold them in place until you add sand. (Most people use 3 to 8 inches of sand).
But if you want to create a sandy lake bottom, you’ll need MuckMat Pro. A MuckMat Pro has a rigid aluminized, steel frame, to hold it in place underwater.
